Musti; the story of a Finnish spitz
by Eino Leino
Published: 1916 in Finnish
Translated to English and produced by John Desborough in 1986 and sold to a Finnish Bookshop in Helsinki on behalf of the Finnish Spitz club.
The cover picture is of a dog belonging to Jean Seel.
Book is 54 pages and has become rather scarce.
Story Plot: Eino Leino was Finland's foremost poet and a prolific writer up to his death in the 1920s. This beautifully written story about a Finnish Spitz dog can be interpreted as an allegory of the author's artistic career, but equally it is an original story, based on childhood memories, about a wise creature in the service of mankind.
